Creating cool designs is easier when there’s ample Creating cool designs is easier when there’s ample inspiration - from the client, product and/or industry.

Here is a postcard design created for @gocarcamp - a convertible car camping bed for your SUV or crossover. Working on the materials for CarCamp has been so much fun because the product is rooted in outdoor adventure. The possibilities were truly endless for these designs (just like the endless possibilities for car camping and road tripping with this product!).

This is the first postcard in the National Park series, encouraging folks to step away from phones and computers and get out and explore (affordably).

Which National Park should we do next?

A little walk down memory lane with the Sunshine C A little walk down memory lane with the Sunshine Conversions project.

The longer I do what I do, the more it’s reinforced that small, local business owners are my favorite people to work with. There’s nothing like sitting down with another person who’s recently brought their dream to life and being asked to help show that dream to other people.

I’ve been spending a lot of my time outside of ODD I’ve been spending a lot of my time outside of ODD propelling my new project forward. If you haven’t heard, I’m a graphic designer/marketer by day and a car camping kit engineer by night (and weekends).

I started car camping back in 2015 when I first bought my #Subaru. Back then my camping set up was a piece of plywood on some 2x4’s. Now, the kit has evolved into an entire budding business.

My car camp conversion kit is designed to fold up and store in your trunk when you aren’t using it (so you can still use your back seats) and unfold to easily turn the back of your SUV/crossover into your personal tiny camper. The kit also can be taken apart into four pieces, the heaviest weighing under 30 pounds, so even a small person can move and store it. The kit is small enough to fit into closets, or under beds.

Part of why I’m so dedicated to this project is because I truly believe that travel should be more accessible. Staying in hotels and air bnbs just isn’t an option for everyone. I also want people, who might not feel safe solo camping in a tent, to feel comfortable embarking on trips alone. I learned the most about myself while road tripping alone or with my dog. I also just really love creating things.

I’ve enjoyed the process of dreaming up this kit and trouble shooting to make each version better and better. I also love designing and getting to bring this project to life, from the first project sketch, all the way to instruction manuals and t-shirts makes me giddy.

If you haven’t yet, check out my @gocarcamp account and give it a follow. We’re currently making some modifications to the kit after beta testing and will be launching SOON!!

I’ve been working on various projects for @hermanw I’ve been working on various projects for @hermanwellslawfirm over the last year. The first project in line was a brand refresh to update their existing logo and branding materials to match their evolving company. With a few tweaks and a type change, their logo is still recognizable and has a new freshness about it.

I also updated their visual brand standards and am now working to apply the refreshed brand to marketing materials and a new website. Brand redesigns and refreshes are long processes, but very worth it.

Sunday was the eight-year anniversary of this lil Sunday was the eight-year anniversary of this lil design business. Being in the creative field is a gift. I am valued in this industry for the colors and shapes that fly around in my mind and people PAY ME to put those colors and shapes into designs?!?!

I am very thankful to all who have worked with me who have let a little piece of my brain be born into art that now lives out in the world - instead of just rattling around in my head. It’s vulnerable and beautiful to do what we creatives do.

Happy to share myself with you all - just like with this beautiful branding project for @chaptersbookstop These are mock-ups of book genre labels that double as bookmarks AND business cards. Glad I got that triple-threat idea out of my head!

In one of my first design classes in college, my p In one of my first design classes in college, my professor said, casually, that she worked from home. My head probably whipped around like an owl's and I said "Wait, really?"

Immediately, I started thinking about how remote work would let me make my own schedule, travel and generally be more of a hermit than an office-goer.

From that moment, everything I did moved me in the direction of remote work. Last year was the pinnacle, spending eight months as a full digital nomad, living in a van that I converted (another privilege I had because working for myself gave me the time to do that). This is a line drawing I created of my van, Tremaine. He's a special guy to me, and probably the most important dude in my personal growth journey.

April and May I'll be creating, designing and marketing for you all from the road as Tremaine and I travel New England in style!

Cheers to a healthy work/life balance!
